These are not ordinary coasters. Each one is crocheted as a low dome with six flowers on hidden wire stems. Empty, the flowers lie outward around the edge. Put down a filled mug or glass and its weight flips the dome, so all six flowers swing up and hug your cup. Lift the cup, press the centre, and it pops back, ready for the next round.
