Crochet Hanging Bathroom Organizer – Free Wall Pocket Pattern
A free crochet hanging bathroom organizer: a soft sage wall pocket organizer with two roomy pockets and a hand-towel pocket, hung from a towel rail.
Give lotions, brushes and hand towels a cozy home with this crochet hanging bathroom organizer. A long single crochet back panel hangs from a towel rail on two straps, with two roomy pockets near the top and a snug towel pocket at the bottom. It works just as well as a crochet wall pocket organizer on a door or in a nursery, and it is almost all single crochet, so it is a calm, easy weekend make.

Pattern at a glance
- Skill level: Easy
- Time: a relaxing weekend
- Finished size: a 48-stitch-wide back panel, 210 rows long, with 3 pockets
- Hook: 4.0 mm (G)
- Terms: US crochet terms
Materials
- Worsted weight cotton yarn in soft, muted sage green, about 450-600 yd
- 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook
- Yarn needle (also for sewing the pockets) and scissors
- Stitch markers and a measuring tape

Gauge
Work a 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) swatch in sc with the 4 mm hook and aim for a dense, firm fabric. To make the organizer wider, add to every starting chain in multiples of 4. If your swatch is small, go up a hook size; if it is large, go down one.
Part 1: Back panel (Rows 1-210)
- Row 1: Ch 49. Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. [48 sc]
- Rows 2-70: Ch 1, turn, sc across. [48 sc each row]
- Rows 71-210: Keep working ch 1, turn, sc across. [48 sc each row]
Fasten off and weave in the ends. The back panel is complete.
Part 2: Large pockets (make 2)
Make both large pockets before moving on so they match exactly.
- Row 1: Ch 49. Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and across. [48 sc]
- Rows 2-8: Ch 1, turn, sc across. [48 sc]
- Row 9: Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), turn, skip 1 stitch, dc in the next stitch. *Ch 1, skip 1, dc in the next stitch.* Repeat across. [24 dc, 23 ch-1 spaces]
- Row 10: Ch 3, turn, and work 1 dc into each dc and each ch-1 space across. [47 sts]
- Rows 11-14: Repeat Row 10 four more times. [47 sts]
- Rows 15-16: Ch 1, turn, sc across. [47 sc] Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Working into every dc and every ch-1 space gives 47 stitches, which carries straight into the 47 sc of Rows 15-16.

Part 3: Small towel pocket
This pocket is sized to hold a folded hand towel snugly.
- Row 1: Ch 41. Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and across. [40 sc]
- Rows 2-18: Ch 1, turn, sc across. [40 sc] Fasten off with a long sewing tail.
Part 4: Hanging straps (make 2)
- Row 1: Ch 9. Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and across. [8 sc]
- Rows 2-28: Ch 1, turn, sc across. [8 sc]
Wrap a strap around your towel rail and add or remove rows so it fits comfortably. Make both straps the same length so the organizer hangs level.
Part 5: Assembly
- First pocket: lay the back panel flat, right side up. Place the first large pocket near the top, leaving room for the straps. Sew the sides and bottom; leave the top open.
- Second pocket: place the second large pocket 2.5-5 cm (1-2 in) below the first. Sew its sides and bottom.
- Towel pocket: center the small pocket near the bottom of the panel. Sew the sides and bottom firmly.
- Straps: attach both straps evenly along the top edge. Wrap them around the rail and sew the free ends to the back.
Part 6: Finishing
Weave in all loose ends carefully, shape each pocket opening with your fingers and lightly block the organizer without over-stretching. Then hang it and fill it up.

Care
Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, or by hand with a mild detergent. Press the water out without wringing, lay flat to dry and reshape while damp.
Make it yours
- Color-block or ombre the pockets
- A slip-stitch border around the panel
- Deeper pockets: add 2-4 sc rows
- A braided strap from leftover yarn
Make it a quick Christmas gift
Looking for a crochet housewarming gift that will really be used? This organizer is a relaxing weekend make and a thoughtful Christmas gift for anyone setting up a new bathroom, nursery or dorm room. Fill the pockets with soaps or a hand towel before you wrap it.
Frequently asked questions
Where else can I hang it?
On a door hook, the back of a closet door, beside a changing table or on a desk divider. It works anywhere you want soft, wall-mounted storage.
Will the pockets sag when full?
Cotton yarn and a dense sc fabric keep sagging to a minimum. Sew the pocket bottoms twice and avoid very heavy glass bottles.
